It's the end of the media as we know it ...

Kind of ironic and funny that a mass media network is talking about its own demise: CBC's The End.

Show Review: The Lord of the Rings
Saturday, May 6, 2006, 11:35 AM - Review

A spectacle it is, indeed.

The Lord of the Rings "musical" puts the 3 movies on stage with music and dance. Think of it as the real-life Cliffs Notes version of The Lord of the Rings.

The moving stage (I can see a lot of theatres using similar stages in the future), lights and surroundings set the emotional mode, but the rest of show wasn't the spectacle the hype makes it to be.

Barring a few technical glitches (lights and flames not working, audio too loud, music obscuring audio), Lord of the Rings fans and lovers of musical theatre shows will like this show; everyone else should save their money and see the movies instead.

Ps: Don't get the seats by the edge of the balcony seating as there is a railing there that will block your view.

Overall: 3 of 5.

Reviews: The Globe And Mail, The New York Times, CBC, SpaceCast.

Hollywood, move over ... YouTube is here!

Imagine you - yes YOU - as a superstar! All you need is a web cam, video recording software and a fast internet connection.

... and the uncanny ability to embarrass yourself in front of tens of people.

World of Addiction
Saturday, April 22, 2006, 11:41 AM - General
What is it with RTS games that make them so addictive?

For instance, take my addiction to Total Annihilation (and its "parents" Warcraft and Command & Conquer) and Warfare Incorporated. I can literally spend whole hours just playing a single skirmish map without being aware of life going on around me!

Whether its the simple point-n-click interface, or the hilarious destruction, the games just keep me hooked even through the wait periods of building units and weapons.

It's probably a good thing that I haven't gotten around to playing World of Warcraft, considering its addictive issues.

Free magazines for only $200+

Who knew that a simple "hack" would become very popular?

Digital magazines for the PSP allow PSP users to read content on the go in an easy to use format, instead of carrying around bulky tree-killing formats.

But then, paper doesn't run out of power. ;)
